River Ryton

Blyth Parish Council wishes to raise awareness of an ongoing environmental concern relating to the River Ryton. Residents are asked to be alert to signs of water pollution, such as discolouration, unusual odour, or visible discharge in or near the river, particularly during and after periods of heavy rainfall. If you have noticed anything of this nature, or believe your land or property near the river may have been affected, please report it directly to the Environment Agency (0800 807060) and keep a dated record, including photographs, of what you observed. The Parish Council is monitoring the situation and liaising with the relevant authorities on behalf of the community.
